Key Partners and Collaborations

LCYC partners with community-based providers and advocacy organizations, as well as with local and state government officials, to engage in systemic advocacy work.

LCYC is an active member of and informs the budget and policy priorities of the statewide Child Welfare Advocacy Coalition (CWAC) and the statewide Washington Coalition for Homeless Youth Advocacy (WACHYA).

At the regional level, LCYC is a member of the King County Youth Service Provider Collaborative and the Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness to track budget, policy, and other systemic issues impacting young people.

Our work in coalition spaces is informed by the direct representation LCYC provides to young people. LCYC’s team of attorneys elevate the experiences of young people harmed by legal and social services systems to guide our position on systemic issues and how we interact with our collaborators on those issues.

We look forward to developing similar relationships in our expansion regions.

LCYC is committed to applying an anti-racist lens to our systemic advocacy work to ensure that the communities most impacted by systemic harms will be centered in the policies, practices, and procedures that we advocate for.

On systemic issues impacting LGBTQIA+ young people, LCYC is committed to partnering with other organizations such as QLaw Foundation of Washington, Lavender Rights Project, and Gender Diversity. LCYC collaborates with these agencies, among many others, to conduct free trainings for service providers and attorneys on understanding and supporting LGBTQIA+ young people.

We Welcome Your Partnership

To have that kind of quality service for young people is phenomenal. It is a partnership I would do just about anything to keep.
— Service Provider

Between the cross-system advocacy that LCYC attorneys do alongside young people every day, our community-based approach to holistic legal representation, and our coalition work, LCYC remains an active partner in systemic advocacy work that impacts young people statewide.
