Immigrant Safety Plan

The Immigrant Safety Plan document is a collective community resource to help parents plan for the care of their child(ren) (with or without status) in the event that a parent is unable to care for their child, particularly if the parent is detained or deported.

• The Intention of Parents for Care of Minor Child explains the parents’ wishes for the care of their child(ren) in the event they are unavailable.

• The Durable Power of Attorney for Parental Powers gives the caregiver/agent very temporary legal rights (for example, medical, educational and travel) if your child(ren) is placed with them.
