The general election is November 3rd, 2020! This is a very important election. We encourage you to participate and make your voices heard! Not only are we voting for President and Vice President, there are also a number of Congressional races for Senate and Representative seats at stake. Check VoteWA.gov to see what’s on the upcoming ballot.
Before voting in the general election on November 3rd, 2020, you must register to vote, if you are not already registered. The requirements to register to vote in Washington state are:
United States citizenship
Washington state legal residency (established at least 30 days before the election)
At least 18 years of age (if you are 16 or 17, you can sign up as a Future Voter, and be automatically registered at 18)
Not disqualified to vote due to a court order
Not be under the supervision of the Department of Corrections for a felony
Your right to vote is restored once no longer under the supervision, but you must re-register to vote.

If you are eligible to vote in Washington state, you can register online. The deadline to register online is October 26, 2020. If you miss this deadline, you can still register in person at a county election department. The deadline to register in person is on election day, November 3rd, 2020. You will need a current Washington state driver’s license, permit or ID. If you do not have any of these, you can still vote by mail or in person.
Once you are registered, you are all set to vote! In Washington state, you can vote by mail. At least 18 days before the election, your ballot will be mailed to you. If you do not receive your ballot, contact your county elections department immediately. You can mail these in or turn them in at your local ballot drop box. For Washington state voters who need to request an absentee ballot, you can do so online. There are no deadlines, but your completed ballot must be postmarked by election day, so request early! If you prefer to vote in person, you can do that too. Please note any precautionary safety measures taken in response to COVID-19.
