On Tuesday, April 22nd, Governor Bob Ferguson signed HB 1391 into law. This legislation will improve developmentally appropriate alternatives for youth outside the formal court process.
Launched in February 2024, LCYC and the YMCA Social Impact Center teamed up to develop a Prevention Youth Engagement Team model to provide holistic support for youth with complex issues that require both legal and non-legal support.
LCYC’s 2025 Legislative Priorities include Housing Assistance for Youth in Extended Foster Care, Expansion of Juvenile Diversion Statewide, and Immigration Relief for Youth in DCYF care.
