  • Yes! If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up.

  • No. Volunteers without a law degree or admission to the Washington State Bar Association provide many integral services, such as:

    • legal research

    • language interpretation/translation

    • administrative support

    • creating legal literacy resources

  • Pro Bono Champions advocate on the following types of cases:

    • Name Changes

    • Emancipations

    • Special Immigrant Juvenile Status

  • If you are working with minor clients, you will need to undergo a background check.

  • Yes. Many volunteer roles can take place virtually. There are also opportunities for in person advocacy. Those interested in both virtual and in person support are welcome to a hybrid model.

  • Pro Bono Champions can:

    • earn MCLE credits for volunteering with a qualified legal service provider

    • acquire training and resource materials  about various legal issues

    • receive professional liability insurance  for the volunteer work

    • connect with experienced lawyers as mentors 

    • learn and practice trauma-informed representation 

    • collaborate with community partners to increase young people’s access to resources
