Sarah Lippek (Jd), Supervising attorney

Sarah Lippek (she/her/ish) is an attorney in the Youth Homelessness Program. She is eager to live in a world where young people’s dignity, autonomy, and truths are respected, and her work reflects that commitment. As an attorney, Sarah has focused on civil rights litigation, representing those who have experienced police violence, institutional abuse, and discrimination.

Sarah has a background in harm reduction and AIDS resistance, including syringe distribution, street-based HIV testing and counseling, overdose response, peer outreach, and community organizing. She led the first syringe exchange program in the uniquely diverse borough of Queens, at AIDS Center of Queens County, developed youth-centric service models with the 45th Street Clinic Homeless Youth program, and has worked in solidarity with people who use drugs and sex workers in many different contexts.

She holds a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law, where she was a Gates Scholar and co-founder of the Northwest chapter of the International Refugee Assistance Project. She earned her master’s degree in history from Central European University in Budapest, and her bachelor’s degree from City University of New York’s Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies. She is also a proud alumnus of Seattle Central College. Sarah considers her formative years in the streets, and selling produce at the Pike Place Market, to be some of her most educational experiences.
