Hollie Del Vecchio (Jd, phd), attorney
Hollie is a native Washingtonian who began her service career as a professor of urban and regional planning, where she routinely incorporated community-based service-learning projects into her courses in the greater Los Angeles region, and ultimately served as the director of Cal Poly Pomona’s university-wide Center for Community Service-Learning. After turning in her teaching career to return to the Pacific Northwest, Hollie pursued a law degree at Lewis & Clark Law School, out of a desire to provide more direct assistance to historically marginalized persons and populations.
After opening her own law practice in 2013, Hollie spent roughly two years representing youth in dependency and neglect cases. Since then, she has gained experience in a wide range of legal issues—from estate planning, guardianships and probates to real property and business law to employment discrimination and housing law—while remaining actively involved in pro bono work through her local legal aid organization. In 2018, Hollie was awarded the Volunteer Attorney of the Year by Skagit Volunteer Lawyer Program (now Skagit Legal Aid). She later served as staff attorney for Skagit Legal Aid and played an important role in continuing its longstanding Concrete Legal Clinic and building up a new Wills Clinic throughout Skagit County.
Throughout her careers, Hollie has gained the most joy and satisfaction out of working with young persons and helping them to gain a voice and sense of control over their lives and to attain their goals—no matter how small or big. Hollie lives in Skagit County on her family’s Christmas tree farm with her husband and two amazing children. She loves being outside, running or biking on trails or paddleboarding on our local lakes, but also enjoys curling up with a book or baking gluten free treats. Hollie is also passionate about protecting our farmland and serves on the Board for Skagitonians to Preserve Farmland.
