Sandy García (JD), Supervising Attorney

Sandy García (fka Sandy Flores) was born and raised in Walla Walla and grew up in a farm worker community. Sandy graduated Walla Walla High School in 2004 and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics-economics from Whitman College in 2008. She went on to law school and obtained her Juris Doctor in 2011 from the University of Idaho, College of Law becoming the first attorney in her family.

Sandy has been a proponent of legal accessibility to all regardless of income and has dedicated her legal career to public service. After being the first Latina to be sworn into the WSBA by the Walla Walla Superior Court, she accepted a position at Oregon Law Center, working in the Farmworker Program. However, her calling was to return to the Walla Walla community. In September 2014 through January 2018, she provided public defense for the county of Walla Walla by handling parent representation in dependency actions and criminal defense in Walla Walla District Court. In February 2018, she joined the Northwest Justice Project and helped in a variety of areas of law including landlord/tenant, family, legal financial obligations, and consumer.

Sandy has been involved in many community boards; she has served on the Advisory Board of the Chief of Walla Walla Police Department since January 2021 and the Advisory Board of the BMAC Pro Bono Law Program since 2016. She has also served on the Walla Walla YWCA Board of Directors. Sandy is a member of the Sherwood Trust Community Leadership Cohort of 2017 and the WSBA Washington Leadership Institute Class of 2019. She is a champion of the community and is proudly continuing to serve the Walla Walla community in this role as staff attorney at LCYC.
