emily meltzer, director of development and communications

Emily Meltzer has dedicated her fundraising career to supporting basic needs and social services organizations in Washington State. Most recently, Emily worked for Building Changes and helped establish the Washington State Student and Youth Homelessness COVID-19 Response Fund, which raised over $4M to support organizations, tribes, and school districts across the state. For four years, Emily served as the Director of Development & Communications for Accelerator Y, the social services division of the YMCA of Greater Seattle. In this role, Emily was responsible for overseeing the development and execution of fundraising, communications, and volunteerism strategies for the Y’s housing, education, employment, foster care, and mental health programs.

Emily has also worked for Food Lifeline and fundraised for their $34M capital campaign to build the Hunger Solution Center, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, leading events and corporate sponsorships. Emily is a proud alumnus of the University of Vermont and won the Young Alumni of the Year award in 2017. She also recently served on the Pedestrian Advisory Board for the City of Seattle. In her spare time, Emily enjoys singing, discovering new music, drinking tea, and throwing pottery on the wheel.
