CAMBRE rOBERTS, j.d.

Cambre Roberts (she/her/they) is a dedicated member of LCYC’s team, providing legal representation to youth in dependency proceedings. She has a strong commitment to youth justice and brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to her role.

Cambre’s approach to representation centers around ensuring her clients feel heard, seen, and empowered. She prioritizes equipping her clients with the tools they need to make informed decisions, while maintaining a sense of autonomy and control, where it’s often stripped away. This philosophy reflects Cambre’s core values of dignity and respect for youth, while identifying and providing additional supports they need to thrive, no matter their circumstances.

Originally from Utah, Cambre earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice and attended the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. Her experience during law school included, among other things, multiple internships in child welfare law, policy advocacy at the Center for Children’s Law and Policy in Washington, D.C., and direct representation of youth in Utah’s delinquency system.

After law school, Cambre represented both parents and children in child welfare proceedings at Metropolitan Public Defender in Portland, Oregon. She then spent two years supporting students in higher education in Utah, before moving to Seattle and practicing family law. Throughout law school and after, Cambre maintained a passion for youth advocacy.

Outside of work, you can find Cambre dancing, reading, and spending quality time with her partner and their cats.
